We provide a different way of travelling, based on respect for people and for the places we visit; always seeking a positive exchange for both parties. This is why we try to contribute by performing our activities in a sustainable way, with small groups, and promoting local development, to protect our historical and cultural heritage and perform activities in harmony with nature.

A very complete route that takes place in an exceptional setting: The Portuguese Algarve. The Ría Formosa Natural Park consists of a 60-kilometre strip of sand and sea that extends along the coastline of the Algarve. A huge labyrinth of water, islands, marshes, streams, estuaries, dunes and beaches combine Atlantic and Mediterranean characteristics, in an exceptional geographical location and with an outstanding biological diversity. It is important as a nesting site, a migratory stopover and wintering point for numerous waterfowl; it is also of special biological interest due to the existence of populations of extremely rare or endangered species. It is also possible to watch migratory birds mixed with species that are typical of saltwater habitats: flamingos, avocets and spatulas, on the one hand, and swamphens, ducks and grebes, on the other. This makes Ria Formosa Natural Park one of the most important lagoon ecosystems in Portugal. Wide, long beaches, dunes and marshes, small coastal villages and settlements. The islands of Tavira, Culatra and Armona. Villages full of history and traditions such as Olhao, Cacela Velha, Cabanas or Tavira. Further west, Carvoeiro and the Seven Hanging Valleys, a coastline cut by cliffs where it is possible to find a great diversity of geological formations such as arches, caves and large rocks. We will also find interesting shrub vegetation with species such as mastic, juniper or kermes oak. A relaxing sailing boat trip but with a range of possible activities in the boat: bathing in the high seas, fishing or just lay out and soak up the sun, and if you wish to learn how to sail our extremely knowledgeable skipper will take you under their wing…

We have prepared everything with our own guides, resulting in carefully designed itineraries. The material we will be using is also ours: kayaks, sailing boats, vans, accommodation; providing a perfect quality-price balance.

You do not need previous experience to join this tour.

All the activities and itineraries in this programme may be altered or, in extreme cases, cancelled when the conditions of the weather or other causes of force majeure so require.

Day 1

TRANSFER TO ISLA CRISTINA FROM SEVILLE. The time and meeting point for the entire group is the Santa Justa (AVE) train station in Seville at 17h. Arrival at our agency and a talk about the programme. Accommodation in our cosy Faro del Sur Tourist Apartments, located opposite the Isla Cristina Marshlands Natural Park, 20 minutes from Portugal.

Day 2

ROUTE OF THE SEVEN HANGING VALLEYS. Today we begin our adventure on the Carvoeiro (Lagoa) coastline where we shall embark on the best hiking route in Europe according to European Best Destinations. We shall walk along impressive coastal cliffs crossed by seven watercourses that created small valleys over time that are now bathed by the Atlantic Ocean. Beautiful hidden turquoise water coves, caves, lighthouses, arches and grottos between Praia da Marinha, Cabo Carvoeiro, Carvalho and Centianes, in the heart of the Algarve. Along the way, we shall also be able to observe various species of birds flying over the rocky outcrops and the interesting endemic vegetation.

Day 3

RIA FORMOSA NATURAL PARK IN KAYAK (Level: Easy). Depending on the tides, we are going to paddle our kayaks from the coastal town of Cabanas or Santa Luzia to the foot of the small fort of Cacela Velha, a small village of cobbled streets and whitewashed houses located on a cliff facing the ocean. Before setting off, we will give you a basic introduction course on how to handle kayaks; the perfect boat to approach the birds and plants found in this corner of the Algarve. A calm route along a narrow water channel that separates the island from the mainland. On one side, the dunes and the sea, on the other, an ancient rural system made up of small white villages, old farmhouses, vegetable gardens and fruit trees. We shall finish the route in a sandy area full of shellfish gatherers, birds and traditional fishing boats.

You don’t need previous experience; you do need to know how to swim.

4

Day 4

ALGARVE COAST BY SAILING BOAT. We shall begin this pleasant voyage sailing in a calm and safe manner along the coast, with good weather, listening only to the murmur of the sea and the sound of the wind in the sails. We shall sail out to the Great Blue and enjoy a swim at sea, do some fishing or have our skipper teach us the secrets of sailing.
5

Day 5

GUADIANA’S EDGE WALK, WHITE VILLAGES BETWEEN SPAIN AND PORTUGAL.  An hour transfer will take us to the beginning of a gentle walk that begins in a little stream surrounded by olive trees, cork oaks and Mediterranean bushes. The Guadiana River will appear in front of us and we will begin to walk close to the Spanish shore, facing the Portuguese shore, then the frontier villages of Sanlúcar del Guadiana (Spain) and Alcoutim (Portugal). For those who like the risk we have the option to do a Zip Line that begins in Spain and ends in Portugal which is unique in all Europe (optional). We will take a little boat to cross the border and we can visit the villages, we can eat either in Spain or Portugal and then a transfer will take us back to our resorts.
6

Day 6

CULATRA ISLAND – FAROL . Today, we shall spend the day visiting this natural reserve, one of the most important in Portugal. In the morning, we shall  visit the picturesque village of Olhao with its lively narrow alleys in the North African style and catch a local ferry that will take us to Ilha da Culatra: a walk on a long spit of fine white sand to Farol Beach, among dunes and small fishing settlements that will remind us of past times.
